What programs do you use for your mixes? And what advice do you have for a complete beginner?

I use Ableton Live.

Advice for someone who wants to start doing this stuff:

1. Find a method of making songs that works best for you. For me, after trying a lot of different programs it was Ableton Live. This might be different for you. But try a bunch of stuff and see what you like.
2. Work your butt off to understand how your software works. Also, make a point to learn about things like song structure, and rhythm, and some basic drumming skills (unless you just want to program drums, that’s cool too).
3. Find a project that inspires you to keep learning and working on things. For me, that’s the easiest way to stay motivated.
